Midway Terms & Conditions
Reservations for accommodation by guests (the Guest) are accepted by the property owners (the Owner).
The Agreement: The rental agreement is between the Guest and the Owner. The contract is deemed to have been made once the Guest has paid a deposit.
Booking: All bookings are at the Owner’s discretion. The person making the booking must be over 18, is responsible for the rental payment(s), and is deemed to be authorised to act on behalf of the other members of the party who have agreed to these terms & conditions. Making the booking constitutes agreement to our Terms & Conditions.
Payment: For a booking made more than 4 weeks before your holiday commences a deposit of 25% of the total rental at the time of booking is required.  The balance* is then due 4 weeks prior to the holiday starting date.  Bookings made within 4 weeks of your holiday date must be paid for in full at the time of booking.
All payments must be made in £ sterling by PayPal or bank transfer.
[*If any balance payment due in relation to your booking is not paid by the appropriate date, it may be assumed that you wish to cancel your booking.  In this instance, we will be entitled to keep any deposit/monies paid to cover possible loss of revenue.]
Cleaning: The Guest is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in a clean condition; otherwise a cleaning charge will be levied. Please note that guests are expected to leave the property in a similar state to which they find it (reasonable cleaning excepted). Please abide by this expectation so we can continue to provide good value for guests.
Number of People using Holiday Accommodation: The owners permit the Guest and members of the Guest’s party (but no one else) to occupy the property for holiday purposes only. The Guest must declare the correct number of additional guests during booking and, if this changes, must inform the Owner and pay any additional charges before the rental commences. No more than the maximum number of 6 persons (and one child aged under 2 who sleeps in a cot) may occupy the property unless by prior written agreement with the Owner. Extra charges may be applicable if the number of guests exceeds the number on the booking.
Arrival/Departure: The property is available for occupation from 4.00 pm on the first day of the holiday and must be vacated by 10.00 am on the last day.
Cancellation by the Guest: Once the holiday is booked the Guest has entered into a legally binding contract.
You have the right to cancel within seven days of booking, if you do cancel within this timescale you will have your payment returned. Thereafter, if the Guest cancels, for whatever reason (including medical and weather related) then no refund of the deposit will be due, and within 4 weeks of the holiday no refund of the full balance is due as of right. The Owner will try to mitigate the Guest’s loss by re-letting the property but no guarantee of success is given. A holiday cancellation protection plan should be taken out to cover forced cancellations.
We recommend that the Guest will have or will take out a holiday insurance policy (which includes cancellation insurance covering sickness and unavoidable reasons for cancellation) prior to their stay.
Pets: Well behaved dogs are welcome. In making this service available we are relying on you to respond by keeping your pet under control at all times. The Owner accepts no liability for the health or behaviour of any dog(s) whilst at the property.
Please refer to the separate Pet Policy document.
Guest Responsibility: The supervision of children, babies and any adults requiring care remains the responsibility of the guest at all times.
The Guest should wherever possible refrain from moving furniture around but if this unavoidable the Guest should put all furniture etc back to where it was at the beginning of the rental period.
Damage, Loss, Theft: Guests agree to inform owners of any damage or loss however caused, excluding reasonable wear and tear incurred during occupation. The Owner may ask for reasonable replacement costs.
Nuisance: Guests should not cause nuisance or annoyance to occupants of any nearby property. The property is part of a small community of dwellings so guests should not make excessive noise at any time but especially during conventional sleeping hours of 11pm through 7am.
Access: Guests must allow reasonable access to the property by the Owner for maintenance given reasonable notice.
Security Deposit: The Owner reserves the right to charge the Guest a security deposit.
Complaints: No complaints can be considered unless notified during the guest’s stay in the property. It is the duty of guests to minimize any loss to them and therefore it is their responsibility to inform the owner at the earliest possible opportunity of any problem.
Liability: The Owner cannot accept responsibility for any material loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the property, its plumbing, gas, electrical services or exceptional weather.
No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage of property, (including pets), vehicles or vehicle contents belonging to the guest or any member of the party during their occupancy.
The maximum liability accepted by the Owner will be the total cost of the holiday as paid by the Guest. No other expenses such as travelling costs or alternative accommodation will be accepted.
Cancellation by Owners: The Owner reserves the right to refuse any booking and to cancel any bookings already made if the property is unavailable (eg through fire, flood, etc) for any reason whatsoever, subject to a full refund of all monies paid (but no further liability). The owner shall be under any other liability if such cancellation occurs. In the unlikely event of a cancellation the Owner will make every possible effort to help secure alternative accommodation if required.
No Smoking: Midway Holiday Cottage has a non-smoking policy in force throughout its internal buildings at all times. Please dispose of cigarette butts sensibly.
Force Majeure: The Owner cannot accept responsibility or liability for any alterations, delay or cancellation or any other loss or damage caused by war, civil strife, terrorist action, industrial disputes, fire, sickness, bad weather, epidemics, acts of any government or public authority, or any other event outside our control.
Waiver: The failure of the owner to enforce or exercise, at any time or for any period of time, any term of, or any right pursuant to this agreement does not constitute and shall not be construed as a waiver of such term or right.

CORONAVIRUS TERMS
After a very uncertain few months we are very excited to re-open. We now find ourselves walking a fine line between providing a very clinically clean feeling setting vs keeping the homely holiday feel of our property. We have taken many new steps to make the house as safe as possible, but some responsibility must also fall on the part of the guest, to maintain social distancing when out, to undertake regular handwashing etc.
Before your stay.
Please contact us immediately if:
•    You, or any of your party, develop symptoms
•    You have been asked to self-isolate by Contact Tracers
•    Your area is subject to a localised Lockdown
In these cases it is essential that you follow Government Guidelines and DO NOT travel. We will do our best to re-sell your holiday in order to refund you in full or move your dates to a suitable future date.
During your stay
If you, or any of your party develop symptoms, you must tell us immediately. We strongly suggest that you go home and get a test. At the time of writing, our nearest test centre is Llandudno, approx. 1 hour away by car. The current government guidelines say to return home if you or any of your party show symptoms.
If you become too ill to travel home (or do not have the means to arrange transport) you should discuss your circumstances with an appropriate health care professional and if necessary the Local Authority. You will be liable for any additional time spent at our property and any affected subsequent bookings.
After a confirmed case, we cannot allow anyone into the house for at least 72 hours. We will then need to pay for a deep clean. It's highly likely that this will impact the next booking. We would ask that you be considerate and leave as soon as possible to minimise the disruption. Quite apart from the financial impact, we will have the very sorry task of telling the next guests that we have to cancel their long-awaited holiday.
We thank you for your help in contributing to keeping Midway as safe an environment as possible!

DOG POLICY

We understand that your pets are part of the family,

we have two loveable pooches ourselves, and they are

the reason we started holidaying in the UK and found

beautiful Anglesey many years ago.

However our home is also booked by guests who don’t have

dogs. Therefore in order to keep everyone happy you need

to be aware of the following dog rules before booking and

during your stay.

•    We don’t mind your dog accessing the whole house, but we’d rather they stayed off the beds please.

•    If your dog likes to snuggle with you on the sofa that’s fine! We provide lots of clean throws to cover the sofas while you stay. These are washed between guests so keep our sofa smelling nice and fresh for the next guests!

•    The garden is fully enclosed and a safe area for your dogs. Please make sure you clean up after them in the garden.  We supply some poo bags and these can be disposed of in the black bin.

•    The beach is only a few minutes’ walk away, so when your dog comes home sandy and wet please clean them off before bringing them into the house. You can access the garage through the front entrance and in there we have a tap (near the back door) and hosepipe that can be taken into the garden for this purpose.

•    Please don’t dry them using our towels, we have a couple of doggy towels stored with the throws that you can use for this purpose. We ask that if you have time, you give them a quick wash and dry after use, to stop any damp doggy smells sticking around…!

•    Please don’t let your dogs eat or drink from our crockery. We provide several bowls and dishes for their use or you can bring your own if you prefer!

•    Please don’t leave your dog unattended in the house. A dog left in a new environment can get very stressed. This leads to noise and destructive behaviour.

•    We do understand that accidents can happen, particularly in new environments. If this happens please clean up thoroughly and do let us know as we have a carpet cleaner and can pop in to sort this promptly.
